Now -If only people who have never been on a cruise before had a chance to go. Reservations go to the people who have been before. Most all rooms are sold out before anyone else has a chance reserve a room.

I've been on two cruises, and I will be on the fall cruise. What you bring up, Cotton, is the unfortunate reality of this experience. I don't like it (the system) much at all. What I think the business plan is, from what I can figure out, is that in order to book a boat, sign up the acts, rent equipment and get it on board, etc., you need certainty in bookings. Let's say that this system was not in place. It would open the bookings up to a first come first serve. They may fill them, they may not. Right now they have a guaranteed group that pretty much always goes, sometimes twice a year. The cruises aren't cheap. I guess they are opting for the guaranteed customer rather than the one and done customer. What they do is give preference to those persons who have gone before. The rooms don't automatically go to them, but since prior customers have preference, they usually sell out to them. Lately it has gotten tough to go on one out of Florida, because lots of people can get there easier than to the West Coast.

My girlfriend and I were planning on going on the cruise this past January, but they were booked. We had paid for plane tickets in advance just in case to Florida (To get plane tickets at the last minute is very expensive). When it came close to the date, since we did not have a cabin, we made plans to take a road trip through Florida and had a great time. They called us right before the weekend, and offered a cabin to us due to a cancellation because they knew we had plane tickets to get to Ft. Lauderdale (we had told them). We declined. But we are booked for the fall cruise leaving from LA in October for Baja Mexico.

It really is a great time, lots of phenomenal music, and the people are very friendly. Unfortunately, the system is what it is. The only thing I can say is keep trying if you are interested.

I had problems last year trying to book,in the end i gave up.
I don't understand why they don't do more cruises as looks like they have a sure fire money machine going.
I even suggested to them to do a cruise out of Sydney for us downunder.
It'd be a winner for sure.
