I have space problem when giggin in small stages. My gear is Fender Blues DeVille RI 4x10" for guitar and almost same size custom made harp amp.

DeVille has a effects loop. Which made me think that is it possible to make Bassman preamp and connect it to DeVilles Power amp in jack.

1. Guitar goes to DeVille clean channel and "Bassman" is not connected.
2. Harp mic goes to "Bassman" which is now connected to Power amp in connection.

Is there any possibilities to make this work?
I hope this makes some sense...

One thing comes to mind....but you best try it out first. Boss makes a 59 Bassman effect pedal. I've not heard many harp players mention it, but it might be worth a shot...

a blues deville is an excellent amp for harmonica
seems like a lot of trouble for very little benefit.
pretty similar circuit, if i am not mistaken?

The BDV is actually already based on much the same circuit as the Bassman RI's are, especially the earlier ones with the tweed covering that uses fewer drive channels and has the same Eminence made alnico magnet speakers that the early Bassman reissues uses.

They both came out in 1990 and I thought those amps actually sounded more like a real '59 Bassman than the Bassman reissues ever did.

Yes I know DeVille is close to Bassman. The idea is to save stage space. Now I have two big combos on stage. I play a couple of songs with guitar and then switch to harmonica and again back to guitar. It's important to have settings for both ready.

DeVille does not work with bullet mic with same settings / tubes than with guitar. So I just can't plug them in turn.

Yes it would work as long your preamp didn't hum & had good layout.

You could also line-out a smaller amp into the power amp in...you might have to play with the line out voltage divider to drive the DeVille PI hard enough, maybe needs a couple of VAC RMS?

since you have two amps, another option
is to turn one amp on its side
set the other one on top of it
same footprint as one amp.
