Floyd Lee, bluesman, was for many years part of a NYC street duo called Ted and Ted; he and his son played guitars and he handled the vocals. I went searching on YouTube and found the following. The harp is poor, but the clip is atmospheric.
Here he is at a later date in the subways:
Here's a great mashup of NYC subway buskers 2014, with a bit of blues in there:
Interesting that, even though only an hour and a half away, the busking scene is so much different in Philly. We have a lot less use of electricity. Most buskers are completely acoustic with no microphone with some exceptions. You are less likely to get hassled by the police if you are acoustic here . ----------
@shakeylee...Agreed on the accoustic setup in Philly. Last time I was there was in 2012 for a convention. At lunch time I sat out in the court yard area across from the convention center and played for about a half hour. One of Phillies finest sat there for about 15 minutes tappin' his foot and taking it all in. I didn't have my hat out either. So I'm sure that kept me out of the hoosgow too. ----------
