I encourage you to explore more of this artist's music. Sitting at a piano and singing, Adele has that ARENA voice and presence that is rare amongst performers these days. ---------- The Iceman
Also, she made the first decent James Bond movie theme song in many and many a year. Just the right bombastic efficiency as John Barry et al could produce way back in the 60´s. Look up "Skyfall".
Personally I think she's absolutely atrocious. Can't stand her voice and her music does nothing for me. Honestly can't see why people think she's so great. Each to their own though.
@Kingley I don't think she's that great. She has a big voice but I don't care for her lack of phrasing. She could learn something from singers like Eva Cassidy. ----------
Yes I have Martin. I find it completely nauseating. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes, than listen to it again. I know that many people really like her. I just find her voice awful and don't like any of her songs. Skyfall is for me the worst song that she's ever done.

Of course i have heard of her but have never heard her voice before. I'm with Kingley,to me she has that horrible inflected way of trying to sound American and 'soulful'.Just grates my ears. I know English rock singers have been doing that for years (Mick comes to mind) but in a Rock song it tends to just 'blend' in,in a slow blues or ballad to me it stands out like dogs balls. Mind you we are in a minority; she was booked to do one(arena) concert down here in NZ and ended up selling out three of them. I am willing to accept that in a live concert she might put on a great show ,and good luck to her,but nah her voice just doesn't do it for me personally(and she could care less)
Kingley: Here´s to you, sir! I mostly find divergence of values refreshing, and the "We (harmonica players) are all in the same club"-atmosphere a bit sticky. This, I must say, was a majestic exemple. Good fun!

very seldom will a cover be as good or better than the original recording. little walters just your fool. led zeppelin had a bit of success, more than once. jimi hendrix, all along the watchtower.
here i thought she surpassed the original. what caught my attention was the opening acoustic guitar. quite similar to while my guitar gently weeps. then the vocal comes in, and the words are familiar, but i just can't place it.
i had to enter the words in to the computer to find out what song this was, lest i fall asleep and never know who it was. had i known perhaps i would have jammed needles in my eyes.
"very seldom will a cover be as good or better than the original recording" I agree. Two covers that personally I felt improved upon the original versions were Paul Young - Wherever I lay my Hat and Soft Cell - Tainted Love. As always with music it's subjective of course and if we all liked the same stuff it's be a mighty boring world.
Ialways thought this was much better than the original. mostly due to the fine harmonica part and the slide guitar part which can be doubled on harp easily.
