Thanks everybody for listening. This is about twenty years old. I used the old Amiga computer to play the bass and an Alesis drum machine. Juan Avila played slide guitar and I played keyboard also. ----------
Do you really need to keep posting theses 30 year old songs? begging for compliments on your playing.you should have your own YouTube channel for this.
I enjoy that players from the forum can link their music in a post if they so desire. Sometimes I listen right away, sometimes postpone until later, sometimes all of it, sometimes part of it, sometimes I forget to go back and listen.
It is my choice as to listening, not listening, when I listen, or listening to however much I desire.
Some music I like, some not so much, but unless asked for a critique I don't chime in, and sometimes even if asked I take a pass and don't comment.
Diggs is a good player and I find his music to be interesting.
Forum members live all over the world. Unless I hear someone play at SPAH or some other gathering I am not likely to hear them play. This forum erases the distances that separate us and lets us share the music we make.
I hope that other forum members will choose to share some of their music, too! ----------
schaef: Please refamiliarize yourself with the forum creed, specifically this section:
"do not flame, insult, or otherwise impugn the looks, parentage, intelligence, or talents of your fellow board members"
When you write "Do you really need to keep posting theses 30 year old songs? begging for compliments on your playing.you should have your own YouTube channel for this," you're in violation. You're sneering. If you don't like what diggs has posted, fine. Find a way of saying "It just doesn't grab me" or "I don't like it." Hopefully you see the difference between that and what you've written.
Hey Diggs, I still remember that spontaneous 5th position chromatic solo you played at SPAH in the late night blues jam.... back in 2011, I believe? One of the coolest things I've ever heard! Wish I had captured it on video!
schaef might of been a bit blunt but i think he has point. There are quite a few people whose only interaction with this forum is to post videos of themselves playing and/or to promote albums they are releasing. They don't even comment on each others videos! One of the reasons i left Harp-L (after 15 years ) was because of this trend.
Indigo, Diggs has been around the forum forever. He's always answered questions when people asked him, and he's often had a knack for posting calming tunes when the forum really needs them.
I know the type you are talking about. There used to be a guy who would show up at the local open mic with an entourage of 20 fans, talk loudly through the first couple acts, go up, play, and then leave right away. Diggs has been around on the forum forever though. He may not weigh in on which $40 harp you should buy but whenever people ask he's always seemed willing to give very thoughtful answers.
Diggs is not the droid you are looking for...
So, while you may see a point in what Schaef said, what Schaef said was aimed at the wrong person, and also in violation of the forum creed, which, if you are seconding his comment, puts you on shaky ground too.
Todd I remember that. It was a blues in E. I played it on my CBH2016. It was the first time I played a blues in E in public on my Chromatic. I wasn't sure if I could do it but Joe Filisko say my chromatic and wanted me to play it. To push me on he said, "if can't do it I'll understand" LOL ----------
