new players are advised to emulate the greats; just listening to Jerry Portnoy relating how he discovered Sonny Boy 2 after dropping acid. What do i tell my students?

Jerry is in good company.

I discovered bending while doing LSD on a beach in Goa, India in 1972.

Tell your students to expand their conscious mind while learning to play harmonica.

That's eerie. I made some progress one night watching John Mooney and an anonymous harp player while under the influence.
Other hand I would not recommend anyone else try and repeat my trips of the 70's, many of which were not so good, and some really bad.

The long way around is probably best.

LSD is unweildy aid; a harsh mistress that can turn on you. Just ask Peter Green.

I go with what William Burroughs said: anything that can be accomplished with drugs, can be accomplished by other means.
