I'm looking to practice some 12th position songs. Any recordings out there I could use to practice would be greatly appreciated. 12th position christmas songs would also be welcome as it is that time of year. Thanks!

The Beatles’ Yesterday is great fun in 12th. Try Grey Owl’s version - he gets the fills nicely.
Here’s a version with tabs: https://youtu.be/Y73n9J4gf3A
And his more recent version: https://youtu.be/x2k4nOxI_ts
And check out the movie Yesterday. It may be heresy to say it on a blues oriented site, but the world would be a lesser place without the music of John, Paul, George & Ringo.

I checked Grey Owl’s tab; That is how Christelle encouraged me to approach the song. She was advocating I do it for bend practice. I did. I think it helped in its way.

hola Super Bb. This version is bendier than the Pacific Coast Highway just south of Carmel. So probably not the way you’d play it in a show. Superb bending practice though.

Ah, the bendy coast road! Sundancer, you taunt me with dream imagery
Yeah I think CB was keen on it, as it moves from 3 semitone bend to the 3 whole tone bend in a couple places. Superbe! Bb bending practice (and A, F etc)

12th position blues Kham. There is a nice video of Madcat Ruth playing Nobody Knows You in G on a D harp. It’s fun.

David Burgin "Animal Walk" would fit 12th position (he doesn't overblow). Carlos Del Junco recorded many songs in 12th position, but would require lots of practice (at least to me)

You can set your teeth in "When you wish upon a star". I´ve never been terribly fond of the hole 5 OB (I play OOTB harps) and try to avoit it in a descending line. Of course, there are special tunings to simplify things, but 12th is an interesting option if your bends are reasonably tamed.

FWIW
12th position does not have an easy flat 7th a.k.a. the dominant 7th, like the 5 draw in second position. That makes finding "Blues tunes" more difficult. ---------- theharmonicaclub.com (of Huntington, WV)

Kham - are you familiar with 12th position or are you looking for a way to break into 12th?
I find these kinds of requests interesting. If you know your major scale or minor pentatonic in a given position you should be able to transpose a known song/bass line/riff into another position. Even if you can't actually PLAY the scale, it's a good mental exercise/written exercise.
Not specifically trying to call you out, but I am curious how others approach this as I am of the general belief there are not a lot of players who make this logical step on their own.
Similar to another post I shared, if you just focus on playing a major triad over the I/IV/V you can come up with the outline of rhumba type groove
So if you were playing in 1st position
+1 +2 +3 (I Chord - 1st Position) 2" 3"' +4 (IV Chord - 12th Position) -2 -3 -4 (V Chord - 2nd Position)
