Thanks Giles, I recorded it and added it to "my high end drills'. Mine r somewhere in one of my laptops or dropbox. I worked extensively on the high end for couple years. So much so, that I was using it too much. My main deal is learning harp, the same way u do singing -[Go from "head voice" to "chest voice", WITH NO BREAK. A lot of top notch players, Only hit a couple notes up there and then bounce back to 1-6. Thats cool but limited. In A band, I was in, we had A guitar player who's leads were "high energy" , the energy would drop when it came to me, because I had no ascending ,descending licks. 3 things helped solve this; 1] when I tried Todd Parrot " flaten 7 draw 1/2 step" I have an A Bb C D E F G tuned normal tuning, for rack playing Neil Young, Petty, Dylan etc. I have all 12 key harps with flated 7 draw. Thats just me. Once I got use to it, in blues, it helped tie the High end to low end together. Studied transitional runs from high end to low end, that focused on smooth and no break. Portnoy has 1 or 2 on his instructional.Howard Levi has leap frogs etc.
2] I studied all high end licks of everybody. Studied all my instuctional stuff. Taped off 1-5 holes and 1-6 on few harps, until I got use to it.
3] Made up and recorded drills like yours and others that transitioned the entire harp. I practiced with them for few years,, Until muscle memory.
Now I've gone full circle and Iam trying to learn 1-6 extensively, for more traditional playing. I joined david barrets sight 4-5 years back, to learn tongue blocking better. I study a lot of , Rod Piazza, Kim Wilson etc. and bought Mark Hummels Instructional.
Funny thing about sports and music, If u want to learn and improve ----U never Get "THERE".
